By | News Updates

As part of the ongoing development of Sub Base Platypus in North Sydney, the Harbour Trust will be commencing the following works:

  • Works to the clifftop walkway from Friday, 12 April 2019 for approximately three weeks
  • demolition and landscaping works to the Gateway plaza from Monday, 15 April 2019.
  • refurbishment works from late April 2019.

Note: All works will take place between 7am and 5pm on weekdays and between 8am and 1pm on Saturday.  Noise and traffic will be closely managed to minimise any potential disturbance to residents. These works are expected to be completed by September/October 2019.

About the Sub Base Platypus Renewal Project

Over the past decade, the Harbour Trust has consulted extensively with the community of North Sydney to breathe new life into the former torpedo factory, submarine base and gasworks. In May 2018, we unveiled a shaded BBQ area with seating, a pocket playground, and a scenic over-water walkway linking the site to Kesterton Park. Currently, Buildings 2 (Submarine School) and 10 (Fleet Workshops) are being refurbished for adaptive reuse by tenants.
